Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki’s dream of retaining his plum job is hanging in the balance. And of course, he is not a happy man at the moment. His party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared him ineligible for the July 22 governorship primary election.
Also the two other disqualified aspirants, apart from Obaseki are Chris Ogiemwonyi and Mathew Iduoriyekenwen. The screening committee announced the disqualification while presenting its report to the National Working Committee in Abuja on Friday.
According to the Chairman of the panel, Prof. Jonathan Aruba, the governor was basically disqualified because of his unverifiable Higher School Certificate. Also he said the document submitted by Obaseki only attested to his attendance. The seven-man screening led by Ayuba said the report is final.
