Rape is no doubt the new pandemic in Nigeria now. But this is not the time to be quiet because silence is not golden. And leading the march to stop all forms of sexual violence against women is Bamidele Abiodun. So chic and fit, the ageless Ogun first lady on Monday joined other concerned women in a street walk against rape.
Recently, sexual violence against women has become a thing of worry. With different gory rape stories grabbing the headline. So basically the street walk is to draw attention to the plight of rape victims. And more importantly, to put an end to the ugly trend of sexual assault against women.
Also, the first lady in her words “As said earlier in the day, I believe that we have indeed reached a crisis point with regards to violence against women. Too many of our women and young girls have become victims of rape, sexual assault, other forms of violence and even murder, and are crying for justice”.
She continued “We cannot be quiet. This is a matter of life and death, affecting our daughters, sisters and wives”.
